ESFP - The Performers
The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

What I found most interesting is that when I was given the Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory I tested out as an ISTP. Obviously this isn't as thorough as the Myers-Briggs but family and friends agree with this assessment as well.

I went to some friends house to play board games today. I didn't really want to at first though so I was a bit whiny about it. I have a painting deadline coming up and I just finally got into the mood to paint and pretty much lost a whole day. (I know, I know, I've had a 6 months to paint for this but there were the holidays and I didn't get back into the zone until last Thursday!). One of the drawbacks of making arrangements to do something a month in advance is that you may not be in the mood to do it when it finally comes around. The other problem is that these particular friends like to play board games for 10-12 hours at a stretch. Which I just can't do anymore. My brain shuts down after 4-5 games and I just don't like sitting around for that long. >.< Mostly it was a great time-except for when their cat raced up and bit me in the back of my calf when I got up to use the bathroom! He managed to draw blood even through jeans. Fortunately my friends are responsible pet owners and the aptly named Rowdy is up to date on his rabies vaccine.

Ok how can a handbag be "Critically acclaimed"!?!

I've been hired by my favorite local game store! It's great to be working again-although it's more play for me than work. The guy I work for is awesome and so is my co-worker and so far it's been a lot of fun. It's just 10 hours a week or so but it pays for my miniature painting addiction.

I had one friend down with a migraine for New Year's Eve and another having emergency surgery so I'm thinking happy thoughts for them today. And feeling pretty silly about some of the things I've been stressing about compared to what they've gone through! I just got back from visiting my friend who's in the hospital in Denver. She's doing ok-it's her first hospital stay ever so she was pretty freaked out. I think I was able to cheer her up though and reassure her some.

I had a great time at the New Year's Eve party I went to last night. I made the mistake of drinking something deadly but it was Gingerbread flavored so I couldn't resist. So was still hung over this morning when I found out I was driving up to Denver. I managed to muster up though (why yes-Starbucks was involved)! Played lots of great games at the party too. One of them being the Battlestar Galactica board game. I got to be president and ended up helping the only cylon left on the ship to wipe out the humans. >.< Then got into a round of Apples to Apples which had me laughing so hard I nearly wet myself. Also found out that my favorite game store employee has quite a voice and can really belt out a song when a group started up playing Rockband on the xbox 360 (sadly I forgot my camera so there is no proof or blackmail material). There were lots of fun people there and I suspect I made a few new friends so all in all a good start on the New Year.

I'm going to do a proper update this weekend but until then here are some quiz results!

...I will learn to say NO. The offspring of my inability to disappoint people are all coming home to roost this week:

First there's the WD Space Terminator a friend from my painting group asked me to paint up for a contest. The deadline is Sept. 30th. I finished the base coat only to realize how much I really REALLY hate painting up Space Marines. It's not that they're bad figures or anything-I just have no idea how to paint them. I have NO clue why I told my friend I'd paint one. Except that I don't know how to say NO! >.<

Second there's the painting group I'd been asked to organize. Which I did. Of course none of the people who asked me to set it up have actually shown up for any of the sessions. Luckily new people have shown up and I've made some new friends so it's worked out. So I guess not saying NO to this one is okay.

Third I told a friend "Why sure you can run your 4th Ed. D&D campaign at our house." For some reason I just thought it'd be him and my two guys playing so I didn't think it was a big deal. Until he started talking about having to tell one of the players coming that they had to shower. Which made me realize that I have no idea how many people he's bringing to my house. John is not amused.

So the answer is NO. Just don't even ask!

I had a great time at Tacticon. It was really fun getting to know more of the ColoradoMPA members better and my entry won Best in Show! Which I didn't really expect. I mean I thought it would at least place in it's category but it was one little lioness bust all alone in a sea of well painted fantasy and sci fi minis.



I didn't get a chance to finish my other entry. Which worked out ok because someone else entered it and their paint job and base were WAY better than the one I had planned out.

I'm frantically putting the finishing touches on my two entries for Tacticon in Denver this weekend. No pics yet but I'll post some when I get back. I'm staying at a friends house so I'm not sure what my computer access will be like there. It's probably not a good sign that I can't even figure out what categories my entries fall into...

My surgery was finally approved and I had it done almost three weeks ago. Everything went really well and I want to thank everyone for the happy thoughts, wishes and prayers sent my way during all this. :D I have some pretty spectacular scars on my tummy now but my surgeon and nurse are more worried about them than I am LOL! Scars have never bothered me on others and if mine turn someone off well that's their problem not mine. The one problem I am having is a case of Post-Operative Blues >.< Apparently it's common after major surgeries. It's horrible! I wake up crying and have no idea why. Anyway I should be fully recovered in another 3 weeks so hopefully it'll go away by then.

Your husband is in a combat zone for 6 months, you're homeschooling a high school senior, have two dogs and two fish that are high maintantence, live in a house that was stylin' way back in the 1950's (AND built by the lowest bidder) but now requires continuous maintanence to keep it standing AND is prone to mold that produces scary micro-toxins so what do you do? Well if you're insane you jump into a painting contest! Just before my gallbladder went South I decided to do an entry for the Forum of Doom's (affectionately referred to as the FoD) Diorama of DOOM contest. I came up with an idea and bought all the figures and terrain supplies I'll need. Everything is assembled and primered it's just that I haven't recovered from the surgery enough to actually paint. I think I'll still have time to finish it for the contest but even if I miss the deadline I'll still finish it. Hee hee! The whole thing makes me giggle whenever I think about it and now I'm being pestered to write the story behind it for this years NanoWrimo!

Sooo I had my gallbladder removed Wednesday. I'm still in a lot of pain but the pain meds take the edge off of it enough that I can sleep so there's that. Also found out that I'm seriously anemic and need to get an MRI of my uterus ASAP. So I'm trying to think happy thoughts about a hysterectomy. >.<
2007 has not been a good year for my organs!

My gallbladder, not to be outdone by John's gallbladder, has figured out how to make stones and landed me in the emergency room for the night about two weeks ago. Fortunately I wasn't as far gone as John was so I didn't have to have emergency surgery to remove mine. I have had to spend a lot of time at the hospital and the doctors office though. It's probably going to have to be removed but they keep saying encouraging things like "Outpatient surgery" and "elective." Eating is kind of hard-I'm not having hunger pangs so I forget to eat-which makes my gallbladder hurt. Or I eat something but I have no sense of hunger or fullness so I eat a bite full or two too many and my gallbladder hurts. >.< Needless to say I've lost about 12 lbs since all this started-although I can't really recommend my methods!

Ankle update: My ankle is fine now. I ended up getting a steroid injection into it (very painful!) and that cleared it up. In time for my gallbladder to act up LOL!
